Boston, You're my Home....

Taking a moment to remember the city I grew up in and went to film school at. The pictures below are from some film shoots I did just a block away from where the recent terrorist attack took place...

The recent events in Boston hit home for many of us and seeing the images of the explosions on Boylston street were emotional for me. I lived right around the corner and worked just blocks from where the event at the Marathon took place.

I hope for a speedy recovery for all those who were affected by this tragedy...

Visual Effects Documentary; Hollywood in the Berkshires

This is a short documentary I created featuring a small visual effects studio in Pittsfield, Massachusetts called Sandbox studios. Founded by Visual Effects artist John Nugent, Sandbox has created visual effects on dozens of Hollywood A-list features such as Fantastic Four, Return of The King, Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe and many others. What I found interesting about this story is the aggressive spirit of these artist in the midst of a constantly changing and competitive industry. Sandbox has constantly battled the tremendous challenges of global competition and tax breaks to Overseas competition but has managed to survive. It's an interesting profile of a small group of passionate artists who are not willing to let the pressures of a very competitive field shut them down.
